Well, it’s been a decent year so I guess I should really wrap things up. Of course waiting until the last day of the year to actually start writing is not the best example of planning that I have ever seen. Par for the course I guess; I’ve been neglecting this blog.
Having Mihwa with me here at the start of the year was great. We certainly had our ups and downs in the short time we were together but that’s normal. If we didn’t, I’d be worried that we weren’t being honest with each other. It was as she was leaving that I decided I had better ask her to marry me before someone else did.
Our family lost Lowell in the spring which was difficult. What can you say about that? Losing someone is never easy.
I didn’t get laid off in 2006 which is obviously good. In fact I’ve been in my current job longer than any other tech job I’ve had to date. This in spite of the fact that I booked a trip to Korea in September, which normally irritates the layoff gods. It’s been my experience that I get laid off shortly after booking my Korean trips. Let’s hope this pattern holds as I’m off again soon.
I got engaged on September 15th (yes, I remember the date) which is great. I’m a lucky guy to have a girl like I do and I’m looking forward to 2007 being the year of M&M… Getting married, having her be here… it’s a lot of changes but all for the best, to be sure.
There is a lot to be thankful for and I am. There’s a lot to look forward to and I do. I hope that 2007 is as good for you as it’s looking for me. Happy New Year!
