Seat 77C

We’ll, I’m back safe and sound from my Asia 2006 tour. Should you ever find yourself flying on a Boeing 747-400, insist on on seat 77C on the upper deck. 77A would also be cool. Just trust me on this one; it’s the best seat in economy. Front of the plane, upper deck, window seat and emergency aisle. You’ll thank me and you’re welcome.

This was indeed the best trip yet. I saw lots of Korea, had a vacation within my vacation, went through a typhoon, drove (and lived) met the future inlaws and got engaged. I’ve also concluded that while Tokyo is undeniably cool, I really do like Seoul better. This is probably because I know it better and it’s cheaper. After three trips, I feel pretty comfortable around there. I never really did get used to people looking at me though…

I built the trip pages for the 2006 page before I left but have little in the way of motivation to work on them yet. I imagine this will be the last time that I bother with it as it looks like frequent trips are now a permanent part of my future.

I seem to be adjusted now. I stayed up for 28 hours once I got home and that kinda forces you to get over the jet lag in a hurry. The flights get easier the more you do them but I never really get used to the odd feeling of being home again after the trip. “Well I better do some laundry and buy groceries…” Talk about back to reality…

Super Deluxe Grand Prestige

Three

I’m in Tokyo now. I visited both Apple stores; one in Ginza and the other in Shibuya. I have to say it was disappointing. I guess I was expecting a lot more. They don’t even sell shirts. oh well.

Shinjuku is really wild and I’m heading back there today. It sucks that MiHwa is back in Seoul. We’d be having a lot of fun if we were here together. Still I’m happy to be here. It’s still summer here; 30c but the humidity isn’t too bad. I’m staying at the same hotel in Ikebukuro and I love the area. There is a lot to see and do within a few blocks of the hotel.

Meh, I don’t feel like blogging. I’ll upload a few more pics and get outta here.

Apple Mecca

Hey! guess who is at the Apple store in Ginza?

Well its not you so it must be me! :) No shirts tho! WTF!?

I’m an adult now

So MiHwa got a call from her telco and some asshat changed a property in the office which killed our net connection. It’s fixed now so my shakes should be over once we’re back in Seoul.

The typhoon which was headed towards JeJu never really turned up. In fact today was quite nice. Compared to yesterday, which was very close to a typhoon, anything would be nice. We were free of near misses on the road so I guess I have adjusted to driving here. It’s a bit of a free for all…

Ahem, I have officially become an adult by asking MiHwa for her hand in marriage. Once she’s decided, I’ll be sure to update you all… Ok, she said yes right away but she was hammered out of her mind so maybe it’s not official. Ok, she wasn’t actually drinking yesterday but she still agreed. Go figure… I guess I can’t get out of this one.

Anyway, we’re heading back to Seoul tomorrow for a couple of days before I leave for Tokyo. If you send your condolence cards now it should be there by the time I hit Vancouver.

Late…
