I’m speaking of course of Michael Schumacher’s very unsporting actions during the final moments of Monaco’s qualifying session. Sitting on pole, his final lap was not going to be good enough to keep pole for the race.
“Hmmm… what an odd line” I thought to myself as he turned into Rascasse. “Whoa! Brain fart! He’s blown it. What an odd mistake from a driver like him.” Mistake indeed.
From outside the car it almost looked that he just blew the corner. Certainly not something that you would expect from a seven time World Champion but a mistake right? Then to the in car camera where he can be seen to clearly straighten the wheel, followed my a token lock up, only to bring the car to a stop on the track next to the armco.
What’s the big deal? Two drivers behind him were on pace to better his pole time, thereby moving Schumacher to third. Park on the track and the following drivers are forced to observe the waved yellows, thereby blowing their laps. This after I was just starting to respect the guy even though I had mostly hated him during his career.
Austrailia 1994, Schumacer intentionally drove into Damon Hill, knocking Hill out of the race and clinching the title for himself. Jerez 1997, Schumacher attempts to run Jacques Villeneuve off the track with the title hanging in the balance. This failed and Villeneuve went on to win the World Championship while Schumacher was stripped of all his points for the year by the FIA.
At least this time around the FIA had the good sense to strip all of his times and force him to start from pit lane. Of course it took them eight hours to decide but at Monaco, that’s a harsh penalty. The press were particularly harsh on him as well, which was fun to see.
I’d love to comment on the race but I’m not smart enough to program a PVR, so I missed it. Good day.

Living on a high floor can be nice. The views are good, people ooh and ah when you tell them your address but there are downsides too. Not least of which is the offensive rent.
The weather has been nice lately, so I decided I would go for a walk. You know, get out and be with the people who don’t live on high floors; mingle with the other humans and such. So off I went.
As I was nearing the elevator, I could hear it. I ran, trying to press the button only to hear it rush past, evidently carrying people who live on higher floors than me. Damn.
I stand there and wait. And wait. Oddly, repeatedly pressing the Down button did little to shorten my wait. Still no elevator. “No doubt it’s all those mouthbreathers on the second floor…” “Screw this, I’m taking the stairs. It’ll be like a warm up for my walk. Here we go.”
Everything was going fine for the first half dozen floors or so. Soon then I noticed my feet were getting slightly out of sync with the stairs. “What the hell is this? Pay attention!”
Now you should keep in mind that the stairs seem to be repainted every three months like clockwork. No one uses the stairs but they get a fresh coat of this high gloss battleship grey. You can’t see the edge of the stairs after a while, it’s just a big glossy blur.
Given that I’m writing this, two assumptions can be made:
I survived to tell the tale

I’ve been having some modest sucess selling some of my crap lately. You gotta love Craigslist… To date, I think I’m up to almost $200 on stuff that I wasn’t using anymore. Not too bad.
After coming home early this afternoon to do the latest transaction, I was sitting here submitting Spanky’s email address to Blue Security and various other interested parties. During my internet travels, I came across LeapFish.com. Apparently, they can estimate the value of any domain name. “Interesting…”
Now, I have four domains so I started plugging them into LeapFish. You know, just for giggles. Holy shit! I’m freakin’ rich! “Hey Spanky, you know what you can do with dry cleaning Wednesday, don’t ya!!”
$48, 268.00 Can you imagine that? So, I guess that’s it then. I’m going start buying domains and flipping them to the general public. How easy is that? Work from home, I can choose to wear pants or not and I guess I could write off a new Mac.
Yep, life is good…
