Behold…

Version 8.1 of [tag]Sevenapril[/tag]. I had been so sick of the modest tweaks I had done to [tag]K2[/tag] that I knew it was time for a change. I was prepared to tweak it to within an inch of it’s life to get my three column layout back.

Some may remember the ill-fated Sevenapril tech site which I crafted. It took me a good while to figure out the three column layout but I did it. Luckily I stumbled across a K2 mod that did that very thing so that saved some time.

I don’t care if you like it or not. I’ve decided that. I don’t care if you like the layout, I don’t care if you like the colours, nor do I care if you like what I write. No one put a gun to your head, forcing you to come here.

Perhaps this new found indifference will actually result in some more posting. That’s it for now. For the first time in a long while I actually had some fun around here. Good day.

Belated Birthday Feast

Thanks to all who came out on Thursday for a belated birthday dinner. Good friends mixed with good food made for a great evening. Attendees included, Janice, Dan, Marc, Kim, Karan and Claire. I have a few pics which should be up on [tag]Flickr[/tag] soon. I’m waiting for Janice to send hers as Marc was just snapping willy-nilly with my camera and she had some good group shots.

Too bad the [tag]Canucks[/tag] decided to rain on our party though. The game was on and Karan was resplendent in his classic Canucks jersey. We left after the second period and I made the mistake of watching the third, where everything went to hell. I’m disappointed that they aren’t gonna be in the playoff this year but they just weren’t good enough. It’s gonna be interesting to watch the changes over the off season. I guess if there’s a sliver lining, it’s that I won’t be subjected to yahoos celebrating downtown during the playoff run.

Well I guess I should wrap this up but one last observation… I’ve been playing with [tag]Google Calendar[/tag] a bit and it’s pretty good. One thing though; there’s no link to the calendar from within [tag]Gmail[/tag]. What’s up with that? Don’t email and calendars go hand in hand? I always thought so. No matter. [tag]Gcal[/tag] isn’t compelling enough for me to switch from [tag]30Boxes[/tag].

The last game just finished up… Question: why couldn’t they play that way when it mattered for something? Meh… that’s it for me until October.

Google Calendar is up!

Google Calendar is now available. Follow the link and sign into your Google account. It’ll be interesting to see how [tag]Google Calendar[/tag] stacks up against [tag]30Boxes[/tag].

Lucid Decapitation

Well, another week has past. In the blink of an eye, 7 days were gone and my [tag]taxes[/tag] were still spread across the dining room table (yes, I do have one). Still unsure of my numbers, I bit the bullet and bought [tag]Quicken[/tag], just like last year. I have no idea why I always say I’ll do it myself and then break down and spend the $40 for the software.

Anyway, I guess I should have saved the cash as my original numbers were damn near spot on. All that money which I had set aside for the taxes, money that I thought I would owe, will now pay for my trip to [tag]Korea[/tag] this summer! :) Not to mention that I’ll be getting that and more back from the taxman. Pay up you bastards! You’ve have my money for a year and now I want it!

Now that I have this windfall, my mind has turned to what to do with said money. I should probably buy a [tag]MacBook Pro[/tag] as my [tag]PowerBook[/tag] is already 6 months old… I’ve been thinking about a new [tag]iPod[/tag] as well as I feel pretty stupid not having a colour one. Plus, it’s over a year old and that’s just plain wrong. No one ever said it would be easy being an [tag]Apple fanboy[/tag]… I figure a trip to Metrotown is in the cards as well. Now that I’m a baller, I need to visit some of the local hip hop purveyors and aquire some [tag]bling[/tag]; I mean, I gots to represent ‘yo. Dat’d be good for my bidness.

Actually, I know exactly what I’m going to use the money for. Soon enough, you will too… That’s right, I’m getting my back tats redone. Then I’ll have another good reason to walk around the office without a shirt…
