Well here’s hoping that 2006 is a great year for us all. 2005 was pretty good for me overall but most would have developed a drinking problem by now. You develope a tolerence to instablilty after a while.
I had three jobs in 2005 but only one was a layoff so for me, that’s pretty good. A layoff in February, followed by finding a couple of new jobs while overseas and then quitting my new job in July to start my third job in August. The tech industry is nothing if not fun.
In January I broke down and bought an iPod followed in September by my beloved PowerBook. I should have made those purchases much sooner but I have now seen the light.
March found me back in Korea and Japan to see MiHwa again and I enjoyed the trip even more than in 2004. I think it was easier knowing that there was some work waiting for me when I got home. It just turned out to be at a different place.
May bought the passing of Gramps. It was difficult but it’s also part of life as hard as that is to accept. If nothing else it brought many things into their proper perspective and I can be thankful for that.
I’m hoping that 2006 means more stability. I hope I never have to look at my resume though given all the work out there and people asking me if “I’m happy where I am…” you never know… That’s one of the positive side effects of having worked at so many places; I nice network of good friends.
I never make resolutions and I won’t start now. I have some goals but they are mine and will remain so. If something changes, I’ll probably blog about it. Or not.
Happy New Year. I hope that 2006 brings you what you want.
MiHwa got her first taste of a real hockey game Wednesday night. She had a great time and our beloved Canucks finally won a game. It wasn’t the greatest game but it had it’s moments. The main thing is that we won and now MiHwa has a greater appreciation for what she had been seeing on TV. We were hoping to meet up with Amina but she arrived a bit late so that didn’t pan out.
In other news, I was blown away to get an email from Ayako. She and Mat are now engaged! That’s great news for them and I wish them all the happiness in the world. Apparently they are aiming for a late 2006 or early 2007 date. Have a look at some of their pictures.
