Finally! I have my PowerBook! I nearly ordered it from Apple but when they couldn’t find BCIT on their list I got a bit nervous. “Yeah, I’m going to configure a few more machines and get back to you…” *click*
While I was one the phone it occurred to me that UBC sells Apple and I wondered if they would sell to a BCIT student so I gave them a call “Sure, all we need is your student ID”
That was all it took; I left and after some confusion as to where I would catch my bus, I set out. I nearly took a bus to Richmond before realizing I was at the wrong stop; that would have been much fun. A quick correction had me on the right bus and on my way.
After what felt like the longest trip in the world (how many stops are there on west 4th?) I was finally at UBC and seeking the bookstore. I quickly found it, made my purchase and was headed back to the safety of the downtown core within 20 minutes.
To say that it’s beautiful is an understatement. I was delighted to watch the keyboard automatically light up as dusk fell last night. Everything about it is just perfect. Anyway, enough rambling; have a look…

No more heathen boxes for me!
