Mac Daddy

Guess who got a G5 at work today? *glee* A dual 2.5 GHz with 2 gigs of RAM! My God, what a sweet machine. Compared to the G4 400 MHz I had been using, the G5 is a whole other world. Of course I’ll need to give it back once the new G5′s arrive but for now, it’s mine. I’ve never used such a speedy machine. Hopefully, everyone just forgets about the fact that I have it…

I installed Panther and Tiger on it and Tiger is nice. Mail sucks and refused to work for me so I’m back to Entourage which I can live with. Spotlight rocks while Dashboard is disappointing. It’s not like Konfabulator where you can leave the widgets running on the desktop.

With Dashboard you call the widgets and they all come up but you can’t do any other work. Click on the desktop and all your widgets return to the dock. WTF?

*Mental Note* Set aside $15 for Konfabulator when I finally get my own Mac.

Nothing to report…

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

Nothing going on around here. Nothing of a blogworthy nature anyway.

I was in London Drugs yesterday and I bought a toothbrush and a box of Q-Tips. I thought the total seemed low but whatever, I didn’t bother to look at the bill until I got home. Buddy didn’t charge me for the Q-Tips. See, this is exactly why I haven’t blogged all week…

I do have day ten and day eleven up on the Asia page. I know I’ve been really falling behind. Three days to go; should be soon.

Finally over

Well, mostly over. Everything is moved and I’ve given up my keys to the old place. I’ll miss some aspects of it but it has a lot of bad memories too. I hope they’ll stay there.

A new job and a new apartment and hopefully a new and better chapter.

I went out for a walk at lunch yesterday and ran into Cathrine of Louis and Cathrine, outside of Steamworks. “Hey, shouldn’t you to be in the UK?” Really nice to see her again. They’re living in Paris now but still missing Vancouver. Tough life!

Moving Sucks

Hep me… this sucks. Moving down the hall is still moving. It’s a bit easier than a full blown move but it’s still moving. I’ve had my keys for a while now so I’ve been in the midst of this crap for 5 days.

My body aches, I’m dead tired and I just woke up; I think I crashed at 10 last night and I was out. I wish I would have had the foresight to hire a maid to clean the old place as that would have freed me up to make some sense of the chaos here.

Still, I’m happy. The additional space is very welcome and the views. Well, time to get ‘moving’…
