April 25th, 2005 — tech
Lacking anything compelling to blog about, I thought a follow up to my first entry on podcasting might be in order. I have about 36 entries in my aggregator and that’s after a bit of pruning, so I picked some of my favorites to share with you.
The PK and J Show
“This show is for adults only–although the argument could be made that we are more juvenile than the children we don?t want listening. We occasionally use unsavory language and often discuss adult topics in graphic detail. Entertainment is the only plausible purpose for this show?s existence.”
The Tim and Tony Show
“Separated at birth, Tim and Tony are the bastard children of domestic diva, Martha Stewart and porn legend Ron “The Hedgehog” Jeremy. Every week they get all liquored up and babble about everything from the fall of Rome to why a butt plug is the perfect wedding gift.”
Techpodcasts.com
A repository devoted to technology focused podcasts.
The Feed
“Paul Maez has been working with computers and technology since the late 70’s.” Probably a little technical for broad enjoyment but I find it interesting.
In The Trenches
“The Podcast for SysAdmins” As with The Feed, this is pretty narrow in it’s focus.
Slashdot Review
“SlashdotReview is a ten minute audio podcast summary of recent technology news items from Slashdot.org. After the news we feature a new artist or group at the end of the podcast.”
Looks like Biff finally was released back into genpop. I guess they call ‘the hole’ Port Macquarie. Go figure…

April 24th, 2005 — this sucks
I guess when I don’t talk about work I have very little to say. Actually, I’ve just been kinda busy or I never would have updated during my periods of ’sabatical’. Basically, I have a stalker who is getting frustrated that I haven’t updated in a while though I guess I’m overdue…
Work is going great, primarily because I haven’t been doing anything. Reading documents pretty much describes my days and I have to say, they have the best QA documents I’ve ever seen. Should be moving on to a very cool project this week.
Well I guess Biff must have been put in the hole for bad behaviour. I Skyped with him about a week ago but haven’t seen him online since. That’s a shame…
Well, I’m done. It’s gonna be a busy week as I’m getting my keys soon. Slowly, I’m moving stuff into boxes but it’s more organizing than packing.
Looks like I got my seat at the Evil Empire Technical Briefing/dinner on Wednesday night. I was originally wait-listed but got a confirmation email this morning so I’m kinda interested to go. Plus they’re handing out swag! All I know is I’m not gonna drink anything they serve, particularly if it comes out of a large vat. Karan, I’ll be in touch and see you there!

April 19th, 2005 — it's all about me
Another day, another job. It went very well today, at least for me anyway. They seemed rather unprepared for my arrival though. I installed Panther and XP and all the related patches as the boxes were bare. I didn’t even have a chair when I arrived.
It looks like this place might be alright but after a day who the hell knows… They have some interesting incentive programs including one that allows me to purchase Apple hardware at a heavy discount! That’s worth it right there! More importantly, everyone seems pretty cool so I hope that this is a place I can settle into. Probably this will be the last time I mention work unless it goes to hell in a hurry…
In other news that means nothing to you, I found that I should get my keys for the new pad early next week! That’s going to ease my moving pains greatly.
Lastly, ANDREA! let’s get some recipes going, shall we? I plan to select some of your offerings, ‘cook’ them and report my findings here.
Yeah, that should be interesting; more for you than for me, I imagine.
