Wednesday 5:30 PM :: I guess I should have been reading ThinkSecret sooner… Not that it would have helped me. Cnet covered the storey too.
All is well here. I ran over to Techno Mart this afternoon. It was similar to Yongsan but not so huge. Ten floors of digital goodness but what do I need? Well, I could use a Powerbook if anyone is so inclined. I did end up at COEX on my way home, hitting the Starbucks for a cup of coffee. Overall, a quiet day but that’s ok. Tomorrow is to be cool so I don’t know what I’ll do. Maybe I’ll go to Itaewon and be around other white people.
The good news is that my buddy Derek has hooked me up with a contract when I get home. A couple of months to start with an option to renew every month after that. That makes all the difference in the world to return home knowing I have someplace to go to.

SchemaSoft… geez, I applied there and was offered a job, but I turned it down to join up two doors down at BlastRadius. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
How come, in the 11 years I was in IT, I never managed to get rich off stock options or work for a company that was aquired and everyone given HUGE raises or anything like that?
Where did Derek (and do you mean the old IW Derek?) get you work?

the D-man is at Pivotal, good on ya Mark. Finally get a chance to catch up on your foozeball skills, they have a wicked table in their games room downstairs. I’m only a 10-min walk away, might have to come over for some doubles…
Roger – you know who else works at pivotal – Sunder (you remember him from GTE)? Not so shy anymore, and lost the mustache, but he remembered me at the time….small world continues.
Yah, I have yet to strike it rich with IT, but I’m thinking my current gig is the most promising yet…fingers crossed as always!

Oh of course I remember Sunder. I ran into him in Yaletown when I was at Blast. Can’t remember if he was at Pivotal at the time or where he was.
As for making it rich, I’ve come to the conclusion that it ain’t in the helicopter industry… especially in the winter, up here.
