February 23rd, 2005 — life
…at work. Yay me! Let’s see if I can make 30 weeks. I’ve always felt it was important to set goals…
I got my departing flight confirmed today, which was a relief. I’m all set to go if that includes not having the money to finance the trip yet. If that’s the case, I’m ready! 9 days in Seoul and 4 days in Tokyo. I’m so excited about it as this time I won’t be quite so wide-eyed and stupid.
Back in class last night and I wasn’t all that excited to be there. I did pass my midterm but I was disappointed in my grade. Nothing I can do about it now but still, it sucks.
Filed under ‘You know you’re bored when…’ I realize that it takes no more than 5 paces to reach any room in my apartment. I pay how much?

February 21st, 2005 — it's all about me
I’m thinking of renaming this site to iBlog because an eBlog would sound dated… I wonder how long it’ll take for it become pass? to start every tech related word with ‘i’. I think that moment has arrived…
Again, confusion abounded over my weekend plans. I would bet anything that Biff said, ‘Hey, wanna come over for drinks this weekend? Karan and Claire are coming over.’ Great. I was in no rush and when I finally decided to get into motion, I stopped off for something to eat so that I wouldn’t pass out at 10 PM.
Well, it was actually an evening of dinner and drinks so I showed up with a hamburger taking up precious stomach space. Not to mention that I was late though I didn’t know there was a start time. Rachel made a great meal and was kind enough to send me home with a doggy bag.
We watched Touching the Void after dinner and it was the most amazing movie I’ve seen in a long time. Watch the trailer and then go and see it. Really. I hate movies and this one was great.
I have my ticket for Asia booked! w00t! I got it on Friday and at a great price too. Well, free would be great but this is good. I figure that I need a name for the trip; something catchy like “The Midbach Asia-fest 2005″ or perhaps “iAsia 2005″ or even “The Midbach Asian Deficit Tour 2005″. Yeah, I’ll keep trying…
Good to have dates to plan for though JAL has put on a connecting flight from Narita to Seoul so no more free hotel. Dammit!! Now I have a four hour layover and arrive in Korea at 9 PM, which would feel like 4 AM to me. Nice. Mom had a great idea; stay at the airport hotel for the first night. Yes, that is a great idea except that there is no hotel at the Inchon airport. WTF?
Oh, the Fido love-fest is over; I still don’t have my replacement phone…

February 17th, 2005 — it's all about me
Hey, if you have an xbox you’d better check out the recall notice… Even their hardware needs to be patched!! ROTFLMAO!! Mine is OK but yours is probably spontaneously combusting as you read this…
I went to my first Giants game last night and it was good fun. I survived the #10 bus through the Downtown Eastside; it was a freakshow though I have to say it wasn’t as bad as I had envisioned.
I even got interviewed by CBC radio (Catharine bolted on me like a frightened bunny when buddy walked up) regarding the NHL while we were waiting for the last of our party to arrive. Don’t know if they’ll use it or not; if you happen to hear it, let me know.
The game wasn’t the greatest; they were shutout 3-0 by Red Deer but it was much fun to see live hockey. Not to mention a seat in row 9 was $19; thanks for picking up the tickets Spanky.
I stopped for breakfast at the golden arches on my way to work today. I haven’t gone there to eat in so long but I thought “what the hell…” The Granville and Smithe location is a friggin’ freakshow. Street people loitering around out front, sleeping at tables and wandering around begging for change… This whole damn city is going to hell with derelicts and I don’t think there is a firehose big enough to deal with them.
Now that I have enraged the bleeding hearts, I shall close.
