Hey, if you have an xbox you’d better check out the recall notice… Even their hardware needs to be patched!! ROTFLMAO!! Mine is OK but yours is probably spontaneously combusting as you read this…
I went to my first Giants game last night and it was good fun. I survived the #10 bus through the Downtown Eastside; it was a freakshow though I have to say it wasn’t as bad as I had envisioned.
I even got interviewed by CBC radio (Catharine bolted on me like a frightened bunny when buddy walked up) regarding the NHL while we were waiting for the last of our party to arrive. Don’t know if they’ll use it or not; if you happen to hear it, let me know.
The game wasn’t the greatest; they were shutout 3-0 by Red Deer but it was much fun to see live hockey. Not to mention a seat in row 9 was $19; thanks for picking up the tickets Spanky.
I stopped for breakfast at the golden arches on my way to work today. I haven’t gone there to eat in so long but I thought “what the hell…” The Granville and Smithe location is a friggin’ freakshow. Street people loitering around out front, sleeping at tables and wandering around begging for change… This whole damn city is going to hell with derelicts and I don’t think there is a firehose big enough to deal with them.
Now that I have enraged the bleeding hearts, I shall close.

midbach it's all about me
Just a couple of quick entries for you this afternoon. That bitch has pissed me off again so I’m blogging rather than working. Yes, how mature. If I were a real man, I’d take my sock full of pennies and stop by her office. Anyway…
First off, Fido rocks. I got a new phone a month ago and I love it but lately my calls have been dropping after ten minutes or so. I tested it today at work and determined it would end the call for no reason after ten to twelve minutes. I decided to call Fido and they were great; “Really? Let me check with a tech.” *brief pause* “He figures it’s your handset. We’ll send you another. Please send yours back to us.” That was so much easier than I was expecting. “Take it to our service center in Whalley…”
Following up on the Podcasting drivel from whenever it was that I posted it (ok, it was my last post…) Stay with me here. If you have an iPod and any interest in Podcasting at all, you need to check out iPodder. Bacically iPodder acts as an RSS reader but goes a step further; it downloads the Podcast and fires it into iTunes automatically! How cool. I woke up this morning to find sixteen hours of Podcasts already on my iPod and assigned to playlists. *bliss*
My weekend consisted of the following: 1) study until nothing makes sense 2) play Halo until thumbs are sore and you think there are Grunts in the apartment. Repeat.
I predict more of the same this evening.

I’ve really been getting into Podcasting lately. Since getting an iPod, I’ve been looking for more and more feeds and there are a million of them out there. Many are crap but there are some interesting feeds for just about any interest.
You don’t need an iPod to listen to a podcast but it’s nice to have all that space so you aren’t listening to everything again on the way home. If I were still using my MP3 player, I wouldn’t have any room left for music.
I guess my biggest objection to the iPod (apart from the price) was the lack of a tuner. During my morning ride on the mighty No.5, I used to prefer to listen to the radio. Now I listen to a Podcast of some description. In fact, I have enough now that I’m listening until almost noon everyday. Way more interesting and varied than any radio station. Have a look at my Bloglines feeds and scroll down to Podcasts.
In site related news, I’ve also moved my Asian pages to a sub-domain. No new content; I just updated the look a little but a major reason was to make room for the 2005 pages. It was an ugly job to build that after I got home last year but this year I’ll be prepared. Stupid things like not changing the time and date on the camera to Korean time and not taking notes until day three really screwed me up.
Damn, that chick pisses me off. Ok, I gotta go.

Well, I’m really disappointed that Freddy and Kendra won the Amazing Race. She’s about as ignorant as they come and she drove me nuts. I was pulling for Kris and Jon. They came across as normal people and they seemed to run an honest race.
Tonight was my last class before the mid-term and we were hearing that it’s a tough one. 2.5 hours to write it next week so I guess my nose will be stuck in a text for the next week. Damn, just when I was really starting to get into Halo. Go figure…
So I guess most of you know that Biff has been fired for not wearing pants at work. So they’re off to Australia until the shame has been forgotten or until Cal feels more comfortable with a chance meeting on the street, whichever comes first.
No RLD this time ’cause I keep my RLD list on my thumb drive and I’m not about to get up and plug it in. Too bad, I have some cool ones on it.
Until I can find the time to get up and plug in my thumb drive, you’ll have to be content with maps.google.com. Pretty freakin’ cool. Maybe Google really is worth $200 a share… Not.
midbach this sucks
Well, that was one busy weekend… Saturday was spent doing homework followed by meeting up with Paul, Rachel and Spanky to move the dresser that Rachel had built. A twelve drawer monster no less. It’s beautiful but awkward to move, so it took us two trips even though we had the truck and the Spankymobile.
Later in the the evening, we met up with Rogé and some of his friends for dinner at the Irish Heather in Gastown. The food was ok, the atmosphere was great but the entertainment was provided by the bums who would approach us when we stepped out for a smoke.
No one wanted a cigarette, just cash. One offered to sing a song, another thought we might enjoy watching him climb a tree. In total, four of the scariest, hard-core homeless people you have ever seen approached us. If only I had a firehouse handy…
Today was more studying, followed by my deciding to re-do my Asian trip pages. I got a couple re-done and I’m going to prepare my 2005 pages ahead of the trip so it’s not such a horrendous job. I’m assuming (praying) that I’ll have a job to return to this time so I won’t have the time I had last year to work on documenting the trip.
Headed up to the Shnewt’s place to watch the Superbowl this afternoon. The game was ok, though I wasn’t all that interested. I caught a ride home with Charlene at the end of the third as I had no cash riding on it. I think we were all pulling for Philly anyway…
The big news was that Biff told us about their ‘life changing decision‘ that they have recently decided upon. They are adopting a dingo and will raise it as their child.
Personally, I think it was a pathetic attempt to garner hits…
