It’s Monday and I still haven’t blogged about the weekend. Not like I think my weekends are all that blogworthy but this one was good. I gave thought to stealing Biff’s content to speed up the process but I figured that he’d sue me and use the proceeds to buy a Powerbook.
On Friday, Andrea turned 26 so a bunch of people got together at Tapastree to celebrate. Stace and Sean made the trip up from Seattle too which was cool as it had been a year since I had seen them. It’s odd to hang out with other peoples friends who are ten years younger than yourself but it was a fun group. At least this time, to the best of my knowledge, no one thought that Biff and I were there ‘together’…
As per usual, I took a number of bad pictures which I’ll probably post anyway. Knowing that we could never keep up with the kids, the oldies returned here for a nightcap. On Saturday, Biff picked me up and we ran out to have a coffee with Sean and Stace. I’m looking forward to you guys moving here. Oh, Stace? Kits isn’t really considered part of the burbs!
I spent Sunday doing mundane household crap and then hit the books for a while. I’d forgotten how long homework/studying takes though I’m just happy to actually have the time to do it this time around.
Well this sucked.
Just for you Stace: RLD

I had my first class tonight. Now if you sign up for a class at an institution, would it not be logical to expect that the class would be held at said institution?
I leave work tonight and head for BCIT. I get there and the lobby is full of confused people, gathered around a tiny sign with all the room numbers. I find my course and head off to find it, which I can’t.
After going back to doublecheck, I finally ask at the bookstore. “Oh, that class is at HSBC.” HSBC, WTF? Buddy then gives me the wrong directions though I know where I have to go. It’s 5:23 PM and I’ve got 7 minutes to cover four blocks. Great.
I’m wondering why they didn’t feel in was necessary to tell us where the class was taking place. In any event, the class was great. Pretty easy on the first night and our assignment is to prepare a networth statement and a statement of income and expenses. How convienient that I had done that a few months ago. A bit of formatting and I’m done.
There was nothing covered that I didn’t already know but it should pick up in the coming weeks. Haven taken the Securites course is going to be an asset for this, so hopefully I get something out of it. It seemed that half the class was from VanCity. *mental note*

Last night I wrote that I had lost a link to a cool site, that I wanted to post. Thanks to Chris, I now have the link. Go have a look at Epic 2014.
I could have sworn that I looked at the URL as I was trying to backtrack but I had too many tabs open, got flustered and closed the wrong tab… I could have looked in the history but that seemed like too much like work.

Heaven help me… I’ve made my first purchases on iTunes. Nine Inch Nails ‘And All That Could Have Been’ and LA Guns ‘LA Guns’. I’ve always liked NIN and how can you beat $10 for a live, 2 CD set? It’s the third time I’ve bought LA Guns after losing the cassette and then the replacement CD. Pretty old but it still floats my boat, even after 15 years.
It’s just so damn easy… “Hmmm… yeah that looks cool” *click* “Downloading your music.” I’m going to show some restraint and give myself an allowance otherwise I’d spend all my smack money. I think an iPod changes how you listen to your music. It has for me, anyway. I know that I’ve been listening to some stuff that I hadn’t heard in years even though I’d ripped all my CDs long ago.
I came across this really cool site and now I seem to have lost it. It was an interesting take on the history of digital media from the perspective of someone writing in 2014. That does it. I’m going to have to get on the Del.icio.us bandwagon. Or remember Ctrl+D. Maybe that’ll inspire me to get an account on Flickr.
I’ve read this before. I need to read it more often.
midbach it's all about me
The snow continues to fall here and it’s nice. I was out running some errands this afternoon and it began again. I went down to English Bay and took some pictures of the beach and the palms, covered in snow.
I thinks it’s telling that 90% of the photos on Flickr tagged with Vancouver are snow shots. I mean we get snow every winter and every winter we are amazed that rain can fall in a solid state. I can only imagine what Rogé must be thinking about all this. Actually I imagine it’s probably something along the lines of “Damn I’m cold…”
Flickr is so cool; I’ve been thinking about setting up an account and using it for my gallery. Not that my present gallery is difficult to use, it’s just that Flickr rocks.
The observant visitor will notice I’ve played with my CSS again. Biff, I’ve changed my layout. What else is there to do on a snowy Saturday?
