If this article on BoingBoing is true, it would drop Shaw into the gutter with Rogers. It would seem that Shaw is filtering .torrent files resulting in slower downloads; much slower. I just started using Bit Torrent and it is painfully slow so maybe there is something to it. Anyone else notice the same thing?
I went out to Victory Square for the services yesterday and I was happy that I did. When I was in Burnaby I always went but the ceremony was across from my apartment so it was easy. Damn is was cold but it was nice to see so many people out to recognize the vets. It was also nice to see the corner of W.Hastings and Cambie reclaimed from the trash, even if it was only for a few hours.
I posted a handful of pics to the Gallery.
49% of Americans are sorry. I guess that means that 51% are not.

thanks for posting the pictures. Wasn’t there but It is good to see so many people out.
Hey, I like the ‘sorry’ site. Very nice.
How is it you manage to find this stuff???
I make a note when I come across a site that’s interesting, cool or even pointless. I don’t go out searching for stuff but if something catches my eye it’ll eventually make it to the ‘RLD’.
The ‘Sorry’ site just seemed topical…
http://www.boingboing.net is usually a great source as well as http://slashdot.org though /. can be a bit too techy at times.
Obviously, I spend too much time on the net…
SHAW !!??!! SHAW !??!! Don’t get me started about that company. It’s amazing that they can stay in business given… what? Sorry ? A monopoly on cable TV ? What !? And the fastest internet connection around but only on paper !?! You’re kidding !?! That’s why they’re still around !?! Damn… cuz that company is fucked up. I went to sleep on hold once and woke up to still be on hold 3 hours later. Not to mention having my cable disconnected twice because the cable guy was trying to disconnect somebody else’s cable. And then when it was hooked up again, there was a new 3Hz interference on the signal which caused a humming on all the channels… I didn’t even try to call them and just hooked up a 3Hz grounding box designed to eliminate signal interference. And then the time… nah…
Dan, how do you REALLY feel?
Dan, I don’t know what you’re talking about with Shaw, they’re great! I don’t have to phone them with problems, they phone me in *advance*, to tell me about problems that I might have. Whenever they come over for service, they bring Kate flowers and me a nice warm coffee from starbucks, and often comp me with free passes to Brandi’s. My TV reception is great and never goes out. I get 100 Mb downloads and uploads even at 5pm on weekdays – if I get less, they send someone over to physically move the bits for me to make up for the lag. And all this is practically free for me
You must be thinking of another Shaw…
