I went to see The Day After Tomorrow today. If you don’t want to know about it (it sucks), you should read something else. Naturally this all took place after I had fulfilled all my obligations under the Canadian Employment Insurance act. *blank stare*

The reviews were pretty accurate; cool special effects but the storey is lame. Very true. What really sucks is that the special effect scenes are few and far between and what is in between is painfully predictable. Thirty minutes in I just wanted to slap Dennis Quaid. Perhaps it’s not the best idea when the ‘hero’ is irritating…

Watch the trailer and you won’t miss out on much, plus you save the $$ and only waste a few minutes of your life rather than wasting a few hours. 4 out 10 on a good day…

I met up with Karan for a coffee last night which was nice. I haven’t seen him in quite a while so it was good to hook up again. We discussed F1, computers and my inability to land gainful employment, so it was good stuff.

Karan freely admits that he’s drinking anything that Microsoft is selling while I’m slowly but surely moving toward the open source side of the table (only 2 days until SuSE 9.1 is out!). We politely argued our points, each acknowledging that there are pros and cons to each and enjoying the discussion.

Of course, any sane person will agree that I’m right and Microsoft is the root of all evil but given that Karan doesn’t have his blog going, I guess I win! *flips bird in general direction of Redmond*
